KINGDOM OF ASH BOOK REDESIGN

This is a book cover redesign done for the book Kingdom of Ash in the Throne of Glass book series. The front illustration is a symbol meant to represent the main heroine of the book, which is referenced throughout the series, representing the "good" in this story. The back illustration represents the "evil" that is being fought in this specific book. I used blues and whites as the overall color scheme while incorporating oranges as a representation of the main heroine as well.

PROCESS
The initial sketch and concept development for this project.
The first draft of this project. The illustrations were not fully fleshed out and there were initially some readability issues on the cover and right interior flap.
For the masthead for this book, I went for a traditional fantasy style, beveled, 3D type treatment. I felt that this fit this book because it's all about queendoms and the over-arching theme of power, and I felt that this elegant typeface with the rose gold gradient gave it the powerful feeling that the book represents.
